For the last two years, Tesoros has been proud to be the primary sponsor of a charity auction that benefits two charities in Mexico where many of our furnishings and accents are produced. Thanks to the support of our customers, we have grown enough to begin ‘giving back' to some of the Mexican communities that most desperately need the help. The charity events feature a silent auction of goods provided almost entirely from Tesoros. The result: over the last two years almost $18,000 has been raised. These have been the biggest fundraisers ever for the two charities Casas Hogar and Casa Indigena .

Casa Hogar consists of four homes for over 100 street boys and girls whose families can no longer care for them, or have abandoned or abused them. The kids at Casa Hogar now live in a safe, clean and loving environment. They are well-clothed and fed and have a warm bed to sleep in each night.

Casa Indigena is a safe and sanitary community center and transitional home for Indigenous families who have migrated to the Guanajuato area from other areas of Mexico . The adults have few marketable skills and many of the families do not speak Spanish. They trek to population centers to work at the jobs other Mexicans won't do or beg on the streets if they can't get any work. This impoverished, nomadic life, forced on these families, makes them the most vulnerable of people in their own country.
